Welcome to the website for Boy Scout Troop 5, Carlisle, PA.

Troop 5 is part of the New Birth of Freedom Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

The Troop generally meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday from 3:00 to 4:30 at Grace United Methodist Church, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Please check our calendar for our next meeting date.  Chuck Vohs is the current Scoutmaster.  He also serves on the Executive and Camping Committees for the Council.

The weekend containing the third Saturday of each month is designated ‘Troop 5 Outdoor Weekend. Some months that changes due to holidays, school calendars, and other events. One of our goals is to have one outdoor event each month on this weekend — most months we do more than one activity!  It is not always the third Weekend, so make sure you check the calender.

The Troop elected to wear Buff Headgear as part of their uniform.  A Buff is a continuous piece of material that is very versatile.  Check out this video or this photo for ways it can be worn. Troop 5 is the first troop in the country to adopt the Buff as it’s uniform headgear.
